My colleague William Rand (University of Maryland) and I just found out that we won a Google/WPP Marketing Research Award of $80,000 for our proposal titled "Media, Aggregators and the Link Economy: An Analytical and Empirical Examination of the Future of Content". This is quickly becoming a very competitive award -- this year there were 120 submissions and only 11 awards, that is, a 9% success rate. I would like to congratulate my BU colleague Shuba Srinivasan for also winning one of the awards. So, out of the 11 awards, 2 went to BU SMG people. Not bad at all, given that the rest of the awards went to institutions such as Harvard, Wharton, Carnegie Mellon, NYU, INSEAD, etc. GO BU GO!
